Leaders may feel so overwhelmed that they don't have time for one-on-one meetings with direct reports - but that is a sign they are not delegating enough.
Rules for meetings with direct reports:
▶ The direct report creates the agenda
▶ The boss does not prepare anything for the meeting
▶ The boss cannot cancel the meeting
One on one meetings are great opportunities to communicate, delegate, empower and follow up.
