My First Experience with the L-Extreme Dual-Band Filter

For the past several months I have been researching Multi-band filters to use with my ZWO 183 MC pro CMOS camera. After looking into all of the options, I decided on the Optolong L-Extreme filter. In this video, I will show you why I chose this filter along with the first images that I captured with it. Overall the L-Extreme filter provides amazing performance when imaging emission nebulas such as the Veil or Orion nebulas. What is most impressive is that due to its narrow bands, this filter will even allow imaging of faint nebulas in heavily light polluted skies and even during the full moon. If you are imaging with a Color CMOS camera, you really need to take a look at this incredible filter.
