Oil fired boiler Tankless coil gasket leak- DIY replaced cover and gasket

Over the winter, I was in my basement doing something totally unrelated and I heard what sounded like a drip and steam hiss. Almost like water on hot rocks in a sauna. I followed the noise and realized there was water dripping from the gasket where the aquastat was located. We have a domestic water coil that is no longer used- the prior owner installed an indirect fired water heater, but did not remove the coil, they just cut the pipes flush with the outside of the boiler., Our boiler is original to the house- 35 years old, and the bolts holding the tankless coil were a rusted mess.
I am not in the trade, Im a homeowner, but never met a project I was unwilling to tackle. I waited until the summer, procrastinated as usual, and now it is mid September. Time do try to replace the gasket and coil with a cover made for boilers without a tankless.
