Orla Dress Sewalong PART 3 - Akram's Ideas #Sewtemeber2018

In this Mini-Series, we are sewing the Orla Dress by French Navy Patterns.

PART 3: In this video, we be making our gathered skirt, attaching it to our bodice, inserting our invisible zip and finishing our hem.

NOTE: I lost the footage for installing the invisible zip for this dress. So, I recorded the instructions using the Tilly & The Buttons Megan dress, that I was also working on at the time. The steps are the same, despite a different dress in the video.

SIDENOTE: For inserting the invisible zip I used Wonder Tape to keep the zipper in place. This makes it easier than having to mess with pining your zipper. You can purchase wonder tape at your local sewing store or on Amazon (https://amzn.to/2MyWWao)

This pattern comes in size Extra Small to Extra Large and requires about 2 yards of fabric.

Supplies for this project include:
- Sewing Machine
- Thread
- Scissors, pins, rulers, etc.
- Orla Dress – French Navy Patterns
- Fashion Fabric: 1.5 yards – 60-inch wide fabric or- 2 yards – 45-inch wide fabric
- 16-inch Invisible Zipper
- ½ inch Single Fold Bias Tape
- Wonder Tape
