We will sculpt bright multi-colored parrots using monochromatic white polymer clay. Then paint them with artistic dry pastel in order to get beautiful smooth transitions from one color to another. Such transitions can be done by mixing polymer clay of different colors, or you can do it as we showed in this video. This is a simpler and easy way, but it requires mandatory fixing with varnish. Pastel is putted to the clay before baking. Pastel holds very well to baked polymer clay, as it is baked into polymer clay during baking. Although the pastel holds well, we will still use varnish, it will finally fix the pastel on the clay and protect the earrings from scratches.
