Mapperton reopened for visitors in March but hardly anyone has turned up. It is of course still lockdown and we are only supposed to travel locally - however we had hoped to welcome a few more people. Perhaps the opening of the cafe in April will help, so I’m off to see Emma, our cafe manager, to find out what’s cooking. I am hoping my salad bowl is still popular but wasn’t expecting to be asked to bake a cake! Please let me know what you think and post your favourite cake recipe - it might just end up on the menu!
