How a mechanical watch works | EXPLAINED by Adriaan Trampe | the owner of Eza Watches #ETA2824

Hey, we used to have ETA movement in our Eza Watches. However, now we are more of a Sellita fans.

A mechanical movement is a type of mechanism for watches that uses a spring to keep time. The spring is wound up by turning a knob on the watch, and as it unwinds, it powers the movement of the watch's gears, which in turn move the watch's hands.

Think of it like a wind-up toy. You wind up the toy, and it moves until the spring runs out of energy. The same principle applies to a mechanical watch. You wind it up, and it keeps running until the spring needs to be wound up again.

Mechanical movements are often preferred by watch enthusiasts because of their intricate craftsmanship and traditional engineering. They require more maintenance than quartz movements, but many people enjoy the charm and character of a well-made mechanical watch.
