Sikh Bride and Groom recite Shabad in Raag Kedar after Wedding Ceremony - VideoMagic Films
Love + Faith + Worship
Mansimran Singh & Prabhsimran Kaur - Everyone knows of a Wedding as an romantic affair.
On this particular occasion we were very fortunate to capture the Wedding Ceremony (Anand Karaj) of a romantic couple who had a Sikh Wedding which followed all the traditions as per the Sikh Code of Conduct (Reyat Maryada)
Following the Anand Karaj, Mansimaran and Prabhsimaran participated in the Kirtan (singing of Hymns) with the congregation at the Gurdwara in Raag Kedar.
To know Raag Kedar is to experience first-hand the genius and workings of a superior musical intelligence. In the hands of a master it dispenses food for the soul; it is serene at slower paces but becomes lively and playful as the tempo rises. Sung from late evening it is said to create a mood of peacefulness well as for creating moods of joy and elation.
Persian literature refers to seven stages of love that begins with attraction (dilqashi); infatuation (uns); love (mohabbat) is the third stage; the fourth stage is one of reverence (aquidat); reverence gives way to worship (ibaadat).
It was truly awe inspiring to see Faith, Love and Worship all being brought together on this occasion.
