Woman allegedly held captive for years escapes and breaks a neighbor's window searching for help

A Saginaw man calls 911 on the afternoon of March 15, 2026, to report a distressed woman breaking a window of his house in search of help. Responding police determined the malnourished woman had escaped from a neighboring basement, where her younger sister-in-law, Tasha T. Beamon, allegedly kept her captive for two years. Saginaw County prosecutors have charged Beamon with first-degree vulnerable adult abuse and unlawful imprisonment. (Note: The house depicted is 1635 Gilbert St., the house the woman allegedly escaped from.)
Recording obtained from Saginaw County Central Dispatch via the Freedom of Information Act.
