How to Move People to Action: The “Think–Feel–Do” Framework for Campaigns

Struggling to turn outrage into real action? This clip from the Center for Artistic Activism’s Action Energizer Lab walks through a simple but powerful framework: Think – Feel – Do.

Instead of stopping at “raising awareness,” Steve Lambert and Crystal Barrett show how to:

Define what you want people to do (clear, visible behaviors)

Choose what they need to feel to actually take that action

Decide what they need to think/know (the minimum information) to support that feeling and action

You’ll see them use a vivid scenario (being wrongly detained on vacation) to show how good activism moves people from information → emotion → behavior, and why just piling on facts leads to overwhelm, apathy, and burnout.

💡 You’ll learn:

Why “raising awareness” alone is a red flag

How to use emotions (not just anger) to sustain movements

How to design events, protests, and campaigns that actually move people to act
