A full day trip from Hanoi to Halong Bay | Vietnam Travel Guide

We spent a few days in Hanoi Vietnam but only managed to fit in one day trip and we chose to go to the really popular destination of Halong Bay. I honestly loved it, thankfully it wasn't too touristy. One of my concerns was that it would be too touristy and a bit of a tourist trap but it honestly wasn't. It was a simple day trip for 50 US Dollars and this is the normal standard price of boat trips abroad so its not drastically cheaper or more expensive.

We did 3 activities during the day before returning home and I think there was enough in there to make it enjoyable. The bay itself is basically a large body of water filled with many 'little mountains' as I liked to call them and it was breath-taking. I've never seen anything like it before.
