How to change the Idle speed on an Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite with HS2 Carbs

Here's a very basic video featuring HS2 SU Carbs on a MK1 Austin Healey Sprite.

It seems about monthly that someone will call me to ask why their idle is suddenly higher than normal. More often than not, this is because the jets get sticky, perhaps for old fuel, and/or the choke mechanism sticks, effectively parking the assembly in high idle mode. To fix, make sure the choke mechanism is working properly, that the cable is not hanging up, that the linkage and springs are all working properly, and that the jets themselves are not sticking in their housings. It all has to be right for the choke to properly return to the correct resting position and for a normal idle to be restored.
