Anton Panov's "Pecalbari" 9/10

Macedonian Drama "Pecalbari" (Migrant Workers) written in 1936 by the Macedonian writer Anton Panov (1905-1968).

A play about Macedonian life in four acts performed in 1989 by the theatre "Anton Panov" from Strumica, Republic of Macedonia.

Anton Panov was born in Old Dojran in 1906, and died in Strumica in 1968. He got his education in Strumica and Belgrade under hard matherial conditions. He was interested in music and the playwrighting (the theater).

His play "Pecalbari" is written in Macedonian language in the period between the two world wars, a time when the use of the Macedonian language was forbidden. The play has been played in a lot of theaters (Belgrade, Skopje). Also, it is the most frequently staged play in Macedonian immigrant communities worldwide.
