Conversion Video 45: Hot Water and Plumbing Tests

In order for me to move forward with the build, I needed to test the plumbing for proper function and leaks. If there was a problem with the plumbing, it would be much more difficult to fix with the walls up. So, before everything got enclosed, I carefully turned on the systems one valve and device at a time to make sure there were no issues. Spoiler alert: there were issues.

One issue was the shower. I couldn't get cold water out of it. In the video, I mention that I took the mixer apart and checked to make sure it was working properly. After putting it back together, it miraculously seemed to work like normal, which made me wonder if I had done something during the reassembly. After some later research, I discovered that I didn't do anything to change how it functions. The mixer is a "pressure balancing" mixer that requires equal pressure of both water temperatures to function. If I only get pressure on one side, it simply does not allow water through it. So, after I reassembled the mixer, and turned it on with both the hot and cold water pressure connected, it functioned like normal. I am not magic.
