I Stopped Being a "Suck It Up" Leader. Then I Got Too Soft.

I realized I was getting it wrong. So I overcorrected.

I stopped holding people accountable. Let things slide. Gave more grace than the situation called for. I told myself I was being empathetic. I was actually just avoiding hard conversations.

Empathy without accountability isn't kindness. It's just a different kind of letting people down.
