Loki & Religion; Freewill vs. Determinism in Marvel's New TV Series (Open Faith Discussion)
The new Marvel/Disney+ TV Show "Loki" introduces a heavy religious philosophy about the universe. It questions whether we have freewill, or whether all our words, choices, and actions are determined by God. In this case, it seems the omnipotent God is a group of three Time Keepers and their TVA organization, who are preserving the Sacred Timeline. Is "Loki" a religious show? Are the Time Keepers the Christian Trinity? Does "Loki" support the Determinism of Calvinism, or is it a story of Freewill?
In this video, we have a discussion about the religion of the first episode of the Loki TV series. We relate some of the thoughts to Latter-day Saint (Mormon) theology and Calvinism.
