R2-D2 and C-3PO on Sesame Street. 1979 Raw Footage

Here's 40 minutes of raw footage shot for Sesame Street in November 1979 and broadcast over two episodes the following year. R2-D2 and C-3PO visit the Street and make friends with some of the regular characters.

I was reminded to look out my copy of this footage when Craig Miller, Lucasfilm Fan Relations mentioned the filming on the recent Vintage Rebellion podcast episode. Sesame Street had wanted to have Artoo sing in robotic words, but LFL rightly felt that would be a step too far for the character. As it stands, Artoo's beeping/singing routine, featured here, didn't make it to air. Possibly because his beep singing was crap. Who knows, but here it is included within this footage.
