The Nuna Pipa Lite weighs just 5.3 pounds! Flexible EPP foam lines plastic for a first-of-its kind shell. The steel-reinforced base features Isofix rigid latch for easy installation and a load leg for extra protection in a collision. However the Lite cannot be installed without its base. This will likely not affect families using the base in their car daily, but city families who use taxis will not be able to install the Lite with the seat belt. The Pipa Lite also has no flame retardants added whatsoever on all colors!

Weighing at 9.9 pounds, the UPPAbaby Mesa Infant Car Seat features an easy-to-install base. It doesn’t have a load leg, but UPPAbaby’s Smart Secure system makes it easy to ensure you’ve installed your car seat properly. The Mesa in their wool Henry color is flame retardant free! The Mesa is only compatible with UPPAbaby strollers. However it clicks right into an UPPAbaby stroller with adapter needed!

The Cybex Cloud Q has a clever feature that makes its weight 13.9 pounds. It reclines! The Cloud Q doesn’t recline in the car, but it does when connected to a compatible stroller. Your newborn will be safe and comfy during long strolls. The Cloud Q base also features a load leg. The tensioning plate makes it easy to install, and if you’re installing it in the middle seat, you can weave the seat belt right through that tensioning plate.
