The Racha is an environmentally friendly hotel. During construction, only 7 trees were cut down. Energy is conserved by the thick walls of the villas; in addition, energy-saving lighting is used in public areas. There are no fabric curtains, which saves on water, energy, and detergent. The resort recycles where possible: condensation from the villa air conditioners fills the foot baths by each front door; water from the villas is recycled and used to water plants on the property.
