Why Wasn’t Tina Majorino’s Mac Mackenzie in Veronica Mars S4?

Rob Thomas’ Veronica Mars is on Netflix, so we’re watching the whole series for the first time. We knew Season 4 was going to be rough to watch, but we didn’t know why or how. From Episode 1, though, we realized the show had taken a dark turn that countered the magic, brilliance, and heart of the original. Even though Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni, Ryan Hansen, Francis Capra, Percy Daggs III, and Max Greenfield give some of their best performances, the season falters without its lighter elements. Sometimes you’re happy with the ending your character got in the show and you don’t want to change it for one that feels more like a plot device than anything else.
