Tonight yet another deadline for a European trade deal after Brexit is passing without resolution - after the UK and EU agreed to extend talks into next week.

Boris Johnson and European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen have told negotiators to 'go the extra mile' - despite a warning the two sides remain very far apart.

There are just 18 days until the end of the Brexit transition period - after which, new rules kick in, deal or no deal.
