Vintage Makeup Mystery: Eyelash Curler Prototype + Kurlash Co.

Recently acquired this little tool and my hypothesis is that it may be an early Lash Curler prototype! Perhaps related to the Kurlash Curler from Stickel Co. c.1925 What do you think??
If it is, then it may be one of the first lash curlers ever invented (might be a stretch, but listen to my theory and let me know if you agree!)
