Russia and Iran Sign Declaration to Overcome 'Illegal' US Sanctions
Russia and Iran on Tuesday signed a declaration which they said will help overcome "illegal" US sanctions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
Speaking in Moscow Lavrov said it is "an important step in increasing the coordination of efforts by members of the world community to overcome illegal sanctions, which the United States and its allies have made a substitute for diplomacy."
The White House voiced concern that Iran may provide Russia with ballistic missiles for use in its military campaign against Ukraine, a development that likely would be disastrous for the Ukrainian people, a US national security official said.
Last May, the White House said Russia was interested in buying additional advanced attack drones from Iran for use in the Ukraine conflict after it used up most of the 400 drones it had previously purchased from Tehran.
