US Embassy Evacuates as Haiti Spirals into Collapse under Gang Grip

The US and other countries are evacuating personnel from Haiti, as increasing gang violence in the capital, Port-au-Prince continues to spiral.

On Sunday, the US military reported that it airlifted non-essential staff from the US embassy as part of an operation.

Port-au-Prince has experienced a series of well-coordinated gang assaults targeting law enforcement and government institutions, posing a significant threat to the stability of the government.

Over the weekend, violence escalated once more in the capital, Port-au-Prince.

Heavily armed gangs launched attacks on the National Palace and set fire to a section of the Interior Ministry using petrol bombs.
