German edit of the documentary: “Elizabeth R: A Year in the Life of the Queen” by Edward Mirzoeff, produced by the BBC, initially released on 6 February 1992.

Recorded in Krakow, Poland from German satellite channel 3sat, broadcasting in analog PAL 625/50 on satellite Astra 1A 19.2E, transponder 10, 11,347GHz Vertical, probably in the 1st half of the 1990s. My sincere apologies for the quality, I uploaded that for pure analog video era nostalgia of the 1980s. Video cassette recorder Panasonic NV-G21 and TV-Sat tuner Echostar 1000E, 90cm parabolic dish, LNB 2.0dB.

The digital transfer from the TDK E-HG/HD cassette was done well over 25 years after the recording, no drop outs or other faults. The picture is shaky as my VCR had no TBC :( and it can't be fixed.

February 6th 1992 was a very special date. It was the day on which the nation and the Commonwealth celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne. Yet few know precisely what the Queen's unique role as British sovereign and Head of Commonwealth actually involves. With unprecedented and exclusive access to film Her Majesty in her day-to-day life, this commemorative BBC video, originally transmitted as BBC TV's Elizabeth R, provides a real insight into the activities of the Queen and the role of the British Monarchy.
It shows the meticulous planning that goes into each royal engagement and the personal interest that the Queen takes in every aspect of her work. Included are such official occasions as the State Opening of Parliament, the Queen's visit to the USA and Africa, and the sumptuous State Banquet at Windsor in honour of Lech Walesa. Personal and family occasions play a part too.
The video includes footage of happy family scenes such as the party following the christening of Princess Eugenie, the Queen relaxing on holiday with her grandchildren and a ball at Balmoral with the Queen, the Queen Mother, the Prince and Princess of Wales and other members of the Royal Family. This unique video provides an insider's view of the life of a special monarch, on this her 40th anniversary.
