Moving sheep and treating feet

Started off the morning by putting on my Dunlop wellies. Then when I got to the farm yard I opened up the shed doors and got the Manitou out. I then got the spike attachment and got three bales of silage. These bales are for the cows as the grass has not been growing as much as usual because of the dry weather. Some footage of the claves running next to me when I was dropping off the second bale.

I then got the McCormick tractor and trailer to empty the muck belts in the hen shed and take it away to dump for it to rot down a bit. This will then be spread on the fields with the Muck spreader.

Using Swift my border collie we moved the hoggs into a different field. We then collected in a group of sheep to check and treat their feet. If it’s a slight issue then we use blue spray. If they have foot rot we inject them with Alamycin (antibiotic). We also did another group fo sheep before moving them into a field near the top of the farm.

A shot of Swift after a hard day of working. Hanging up my jacket when I got back into the house at the end of the day.

Thanks for watching!
