During a visit, my son told me casually:
'Mom saw your car. She peeked in your car.'

A separate report documented the children saying:
'Mom was following dad and taking pictures of his car.'

My child was not just visiting me.
My child was reporting on me.
He had been made into a messenger — into a participant
in surveillance he didn't understand and didn't choose.

This is called triangulation.
It happens when a child is pulled into the emotional conflict,
suspicion, or investigative behavior of one parent toward the other.
The child carries information. The child observes.
The child begins to see one parent through the other parent's lens.

It causes real psychological harm.
And it is documentable.

California law that applies:

FC § 3020 — A child's emotional welfare is a primary court concern
FC § 3040 — Using a child as a surveillance instrument is documented
interference with the other parent's relationship
WIC § 300(c) — Emotional damage caused by a parent's conduct
is grounds for court intervention

Document every instance immediately:
date, exact words, the tone the child used when they said it.
The casualness of the delivery is part of the evidence.
It tells you how normalized this has become for the child.
