John Eliot Gardiner introduces Bach's Christ lag in Todesbanden

John Eliot Gardiner introduces the first piece on the programme for our Easter Sunday broadcast, Bach's Christ lag in Todesbanden. The piece is Bach's earliest surviving chorale cantata: a bold and innovative piece of musical drama, based on Martin Luther’s fiery hymn of the same name.
