2007 Honda Odyssey SRS Airbag Light - Side Impact Sensor Replacement

The SRS Light in my 2007 Honda Odyssey had been intermittently coming on over the last few months. Recently, it has stayed on constantly even after trying to reset it.

I took the car to the dealership for them to read the SRS code. They read the following DTC codes:

45-30 Internal failure of the left side impact sensor (second)
56-21 Undefined data received from the PCM

The dealership would not replace the impact sensor even though the DTC specifically states the second left side impact sensor has an eternal failure. They told me they would need two hours of labor ($250) to further diagnose the undefined data error and they refused to simply replace the impact sensor.

The part number for the second left side impact sensor is 77970-SHJ-C12. The vehicle was not in a collision, so this part must have just failed at random.

The repair took about 5 minutes and is absolutely not worth the two hours labor the dealership wanted to charge to install it.
