Uncharted Territory: First Time Yamadori Repotting

I repot my Western Hemlock (Tsuga heterophylla) yamadori, which I collected in a National Forest near my home in 2022. I initially put it in an oversized bonsai pot to recover from collection. In this video, I significantly reduce the rootball and move it into a more appropriately sized oval pot.

While working on this tree, I realized that this was a first for me: Although I've now collected a few native trees, not to mention quite a few 'yardadori' trees from my backyard, I have never repotted one of these yamadori trees after initial collection. I reduced the rootball quite significantly, removing most of the forest soil. Did I get rid of enough forest soil, or perhaps I was too aggressive? We'll see how the tree reacts.
