Technique Tutorial: Garter Tab Cast On, Provisional Method

This video demonstrates how to work a garter tab cast on. It's a great way to start a top-down shawl that will have a garter stitch selvedge, and results in a straight and seamless top edge. The demonstration uses the example of creating 11 shawl stitches, but substitute the given stitch and row numbers for those specified in your pattern.
