Arrival to Chora Sfakion by ship!!!#short

Chora Sfakion is small coastal town, 70 km southern from Chania. It’s the centre of remote southwestern regional unit called Sfakia, which is considered to be the area that have never been fully occupied by any foreign powers whereas the rest of Crete was conquered.
Chora Sfakion is important location of ship transportation. There are two harbours with boat connections in summer season to Loutro, Agia Roumeli, Sougia, Paleochora and Gavdos island.
Large parking for buses is by the side of town, because Chora Sfakion is the place where tourists arrive by boat after excursions (Samaria gorge etc) and buses take them from there back to their destination.
Coast of Chora Sfakion has two pebble beaches, both are organized and easily accessible. The waterfront is surrounded by restaurants.Various hotels and apartments can be found in the town as well as basic urban and tourism infrastructure.
Ruins of Venetian castle are located on Kastelli hill behind eastern harbour. The top of ruins offers view of harbours and wide sea.
Impressive White Mountains with numerous gorges are at the background of Chora Sfakion.
