MKHWANAZI ACCUSED OF LYING TO MADLANGA COMMISSION OVER “MOTHER’S DEATH”

PRETORIA – Explosive developments at the Madlanga Commission as suspended EMPD Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi faces serious allegations of misleading the inquiry to secure a postponement.

Mkhwanazi was expected to appear before the Commission on 23 March but requested a delay, claiming his mother had passed away.

However, evidence leader Mahlape Sello told the Commission that official Home Affairs records contradict his claim. Documents, including his birth certificate, indicate that the deceased woman was not his biological mother.

Sello argued that Mkhwanazi knowingly misrepresented facts to obtain an extension and should be held in contempt of the Commission.

In response, Mkhwanazi denied any wrongdoing, stating that the woman who passed away was his stepmother who raised him, and culturally, he considers her his mother.

The matter now raises serious questions about credibility, cultural interpretation, and potential legal consequences.
