How To Setup an NTS Server Using Debian Or Ubuntu

In this video we show you how to setup an NTS server using Debian or Ubuntu

Normally you would set up your own Network Time Protocol (NTP) server to get time from the Internet and point your internal computers to your server

Having your own internal time server not only take some traffic off your Internet link but it also benefits the likes of Cloudflare that provide Public time servers for free

But NTP wasn't designed with security in mind and so now we have Network Time Security (NTS) in its place

By using NTS, your server will be able to synch it's clock over the Internet securely and even devices on your network that only support NTP will benefit
