We missed the point of Tsukishima (Haikyuu)

"Tsukishima's story is learning to love volleyball", right? Tsukishima blocking Ushiwaka is one of Haikyuu's best scenes, but Tsukishima's story is so much more than just one point.

From his chat with Yamaguchi, to his discussion with Bokuto over "Being hooked on volleyball", I personally think there's a LOT more to Tsukishima. Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa is an epic match, one of Haikyuu's greatest seasons. But it's not the only one - in particular Tsukishima's development is really mostly in season 2, during the Tokyo training camp.

We see his past through flashbacks, his childhood with Yamaguchi, his dramatic moment where he sees his brother, isn't actually on the volleyball team and most interestingly, how much he used to love volleyball. It was never a case of "just a club", or "just one point", volleyball has always meant the world to Tsukishima.

It's often said that if Hinata is the sun, Tsukishima is the moon, this analogy works in countless ways, but "The battle of the sun and moon" breaks down in one area: Tsukishima doesn't always need Hinata to shine.
