We are already a month into 2024 and I thought I would share my predictions for the citizenship by the investment industry for this coming year.

Here are some predictions for investment immigration industry for this year:

- Malta citizenship by investment will undergo more pressure and may eventually close down or drastically change. The Maltese passport is the strongest passport you can obtain through citizenship by investment with visa free travel to Canada, the USA, Australia, and other major countries. Maltese citizenship is a European citizenship meaning that you have the right to live, work, and travel within EU member states.

- Caribbean citizenship by investment programs will adapt their programs to follow suit of Saint Kitts & Nevis. This won’t necessarily mean a price hike, however, I believe that citizenship by investment will be much more strict in the vetting and processing of applications.

- Grenada won’t be as popular an option due to the USA’s new law on E2 investor visa and therefore there will probably be a decline in applications, which won’t necessarily be a bad thing as there is a backlog of applications. Dominica citizenship by investment will also likely see a decline in applications due to the fact that it lost visa free travel to the United Kingdom.

- The United States of America and Canada will become more woke, continue to increase taxes and make it more burdensome on businesses with increased regulations. People will turn to alternative options for themselves and their business.

- El Salvador citizenship program won’t work out as anticipated and will not live up to the hype.

- There will be an increase in the number of persons seeking a better quality of life, doing citizenship by investment and residency by investment. There will be a lot more applicants from traditional 'first world' countries like the USA, Canada, UK.

- Other countries will look to attract foreign investment and new citizenship or residency programs may emerge. For example, Saudi Arabia recently introduced a residency program.
