Quelen Fruit is a holding of fruit companies that owns Packing Merquén, a fresh fruit and nut processing company that has been in operation for four years. Europe is one of its main export markets, and this means meeting demanding Category 1 quality standards, which require one shell per 200 kg. Together with TOMRA Food, Quelen Fruit designed and installed a cascading sorting process to achieve the perfect sorting program – ensuring that “Every Nut Counts”. The configuration unlocked 2,700 kg per hour while achieving one shell per 500 kg, outperforming Category 1 standards.
