Morning News – Administrator Killed in Pyay Township Attack
A local administrator accused of orchestrating forced porter recruitment for Myanmar military forces has been shot dead in Pyay Township, Bago Region, according to Battalion 2 of Pyay District.
The incident occurred around 12:00 PM on April 18 near Dwe village in Paungde Township. Resistance fighters from Battalion 2, operating under Strategy 21 of the Bago Regional Command, reportedly carried out the attack, resulting in the administrator’s immediate death.
The deceased, identified as Tin Maung San, served as the administrator of Inn Win village tract in the Wet Htee Kan area and had previously received a third-class social excellence award.
According to resistance sources, despite prior warnings issued by the People’s Defense Forces (PDF), he continued supporting the military administrative system, allegedly participating in forced conscription efforts and collaborating with police to oppress civilians.
