Solar X flare 28 Oct. 2021 associated with coronal mass ejection toward Earth
This was a solar X flare 28 Oct. 2021 associated with coronal mass ejection toward Earth. The individual frames were via the NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) satellite via the AIA 304 filter. This video was made by Jason W. Higley (not affiliated with NASA), who has also rotated and cropped the images and made them into this animated sequence to highlight the X flare. Images courtesy of the Courtesy of NASA/SDO and the AIA, EVE, and HMI science teams.
