Dolina Chochołowska – jest najdłuższą, największą i najdalej na zachód wysuniętą doliną leżącą w obrębie Tatrzańskiego Parku Narodowego. Ma długość około 10 kilometrów i zajmuje powierzchnię około 36 km2. W górnej części dolina rozgałęzia się na trzy doliny: Starorobociańską, Jarząbczą i Chochołowską Wyżnią. Poza tymi największymi odgałęzieniami ma ona jeszcze kilka mniejszych. W dolnej części dolina zbudowana jest ze skał osadowych, natomiast w górnej ze skał krystalicznych. Na budowę jej górnej części największy wpływ miał lodowiec natomiast w dolnej wykształciły się głównie zjawiska krasowe. Dolina nazwę swą wzięła od znajdującej się kilka kilometrów od niej wsi Chochołów. Dzięki występowaniu w dolinie dużej powierzchni polan i hal, stała się największym ośrodkiem pasterstwa w Tatrach. Na jej obszarze również funkcjonowały ośrodki górniczo – hutnicze. Początkowo turystyka skupiała się głównie w okolicach Tatr bliższych Zakopanego. Dopiero przed I Wojną Światową dolina uzyskała większą popularność, głównie dzięki narciarzom i taternikom. W czasie II Wojny Światowej istniejące w dolinie liczne schroniska i szałasy stanowiły bazę dla partyzantki. Administracyjnie dolina leży na terenie wsi Witów. Dolina znajduje się na terenie Tatrzańskiego Parku Narodowego, ale nie jest jego własnością, lecz należy do Wspólnoty Leśnej Uprawnionych Ośmiu Wsi z siedzibą w Witowie. Na terenie doliny prowadzona jest gospodarka leśna i wycinane są drzewa. Istnieje też pasterstwo. Aż 2/3 doliny pokryte jest lasami świerkowymi. Szczyty i granie wyższych gór są trawiaste i najatrakcyjniej wyglądają jesienią. Atrakcją są też liczne polany i hale z szałasami. Wiosną w dolinie Chochołowskiej masowo rozkwitają krokusy, które przyciągają tysiące turystów. Dolina jest też ostoją dzikich zwierząt. Odbywają się tu rykowiska jeleni, występują niedźwiedzie czy świstaki. Dolina Chochołowska jest obecnie jednym z najczęstszych celów turystów przybywających w Tatry i na Podhale.

​ Chocholowska Valley - is the longest, largest and most distant western valley which is located within the Tatra National Park. It is about 10 km long and covers an area of about 36 km2. The valley is divided into three valleys: Starorobocianska, Jarzabcza and Chocholowska Wyznia. Apart from the largest branches there are also several smaller ones. In the lower part, valley is built of sedimentary rocks, while in the upper part of crystalline rocks. The upper part of the structure was influenced by the glacier, while the karst phenomena were formed in the lower part. The name of the valley comes from Chocholow village located few kilometers from here. There are a large area of pasture glads in the valley and this area became the largest pasturage center in the Tatras. There were also mining and metallurgical centers in the past. At the begining, tourism focused mainly on the Tatras near Zakopane. It was not until the First World War that the valley became more popular, mainly thanks to skiers and climbers. During the Second World War, many shelters existed in the valley, forming a base for guerrilla warfare. Administratively, the valley is located in the village of Witow. The valley is located in the Tatra National Park who is not owner, but belongs to the Forest Community of Eligible Eight Villages with headquarters in Witow. The forest is managed by the community and the trees are cut. There is also a shepherding. As many as 2/3 of the valley is covered with spruce forests. The summits of the higher mountains are grassy and mostly look attractive in the autumn. There are also many glades with huts. In the valley of Chocholowska, crocuses are blooming massively in spring and they are famous for thousands of tourists. The valley is also home to wildlife. Deers, bears and marmots can be find here. Chocholowska Valley is currently one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Tatra Mountain and Podhale.
