Binocular Collimation - DIY Optical Bench Method. Colimación de Binoculares. Collimation Jumelles
My first experience of re-aligning the optics in an old pair of binoculars although successful relied heavily on a subjective assessment of how the images could be brought into alignment by altering the optical path through the binocular’s objective lens. I was intrigued by how a ‘scientific’ method could produce a more satisfactory result. To this end I decided to make a collimating setup similar to that described in the book by Seyfried. The advantage of this method is that the whole operation can be undertaken indoors and within the confines of a table measuring less than six feet by three feet.
The arrangement comprised:

Mi primera experiencia de realineación de la óptica en un viejo par de binoculares, aunque tuvo éxito, se basó en gran medida en una evaluación subjetiva de cómo las imágenes podrían alinearse alterando la trayectoria óptica a través de la lente del objetivo del binocular. Me intrigaba cómo un método "científico" podía producir un resultado más satisfactorio. Con este fin, decidí hacer una configuración de colimación similar a la descrita en el libro de Seyfried. La ventaja de este método es que toda la operación se puede realizar en interiores y dentro de los límites de una mesa que mide menos de 2 m por 1 m.
El arreglo comprendía:
mesa
colimador
montura binocular
alcance de colimación
