An Unexpected Journey with Hasaim Rida | The Fighter’s Stance Ep. 20 - Sheepdog Response

Hasaim Rida drops in to The Fighters Stance Podcast after teaching a seminar for Heroes Jiu Jitsu at Gracie Humaita Cedar Park. Hasaim was born in Ghana, and like most other kids there, began playing soccer, but that was only the beginning. At 15, he moved to Japan with his family without even speaking the language. While he was learning to speak Japanese, he picked up Jiu Jitsu at the suggestion of a family friend. Eventually, he moved to Tokyo to train under the guidance of Yuki Ishikawa at the Carpi Diem Academy. Hasaim attained the coveted Black Belt in 2018, setting the stage for his ascent in the grappling world.

Eventually, he moved to Detroit to see if he had what it took to train full time. After a few years in Michigan, he decided it was time to join the B-Team down in Austin, TX. Over the past few years, Hasaim has had some amazing victories, including ADCC 2022, where he stunned the world by submitting the legendary Roberto Cyborg Abreu. From Quintet to UFC Fight Pass Invitational, Hasaim's journey is a testament to resilience, skill, and the relentless pursuit of greatness, leaving audiences eager to witness his next triumphs, including the highly anticipated ADCC 2024.
