No Man's Sky: The Complete History

Originally met with less than favorable reviews, No Man's Sky seemed to be yet another game to fail to live up to its expectations. And for two years with a few intermittent updates that seemed to be the case.
With one update, this all seemed to change. No Man's Sky NEXT brought life into the game and gave Hello Games a stable footing.
So what happened? What was it like before launch and how bad did No Man's Sky suffer? How much did NEXT really do for the game?

So this video was actually started before BEYOND was even announced. I worked on it on and off since February and finally focused on it last month.
