Love Living Here Community Action Plan

The Antrim and Newtownabbey Community Planning Partnership are working with community, voluntary and statutory agencies to help improve the lives of individuals and communities in our Borough.

The Love Living Here community plan which runs to 2030, was initially launched in 2017, has been re-evaluated following the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent cost of living crisis.

Within the plan we are working toward five key outcomes.
1. Our citizens enjoy good health and wellbeing
2. Our citizens live in connected, safe, clean and vibrant places
3. Our citizens benefit from economic prosperity
4. Our citizens achieve their full potential
5. Our most vulnerable citizens are supported.

There are four key thematic areas, People, Place, Prosperity and Planet. Each of these reflect the priorities of our communities and statutory partners.

People
We will seek to improve the health and wellbeing of all our citizens, providing opportunities to take part in a range of programmes focused on good physical and mental health.

We will champion opportunities for all our citizens to volunteer, creating a strong and vibrant community and voluntary sector.

And we will focus on the most vulnerable people within the Borough, taking steps to address poverty and improving the quality of life for our aging population.

Place
The Borough we live in is a beautiful part of the world and we will ensure that it remains a safe, clean and vibrant place to live.
We will seek to improve access for all, at our recreation and play facilities.
And we will address the needs of citizens around housing and develop a housing led regeneration plan for the Borough.

Prosperity
Our Borough is at the forefront of innovation in economic development. We will aim to make it a competitive place to start and grow a business.
We will continue to support entrepreneurs with skills development and advance the infrastructure to help our citizens reach their full potential.

Planet
This new area of the plan reflects the changing priorities for our Borough and the world in general as we move toward a greener future.
We will promote greater sustainability, improve education and skills around the green economy to help tackle climate change and promote access to green spaces.

The Love Living Here community plan is a road map to help Antrim and Newtownabbey Community Planning Partnership improve the lives of our citizens and to deliver the outcomes up to 2030.
