RAILS TO THE CATSKILLS - Catskill Mountain Railroad excerpt

An excerpt from a documentary work in progress - RAILS TO THE CATSKILLS. This portion features the Catskill Mountain Railroad, a tourist railroad operating in Kingston and Phoenicia area of New York State. It shows the track restoration and bridge C-9 rebuild as well as featuring the traditional tune "Working on the Railroad" as performed by the Catskill Mountain Railroad Band during its Christmas 2012 holiday run.

The full length documentary will cover the history of railroads in the Northern and Southern Catskills from beginnings to current days. It will feature historians, vintage film, images and postcards. The documentary will cover the Catskill and Canajoharie, the New York, Ontario & Western, the Ulster and Delaware/Stony Clove and Kaaterskill branches, the NY Central, the Delaware and Northern, the Catskill Mountain Railway/Otis Elevating Railway plus an expanded section on current tourist lines operating in the Catskills.
