Finis Jhung Ballet Technique: Chaînés for adult beginners

FINISFRIDAY Promenade & Pirouette 10/25/19 at Pearl Studios NYC.

Beginners must learn to turn their heads by focusing on their eyes as they face the mirror, and looking for their eyes as quickly as possible.

When they spot and turn their heads, the body has to follow.

At the same time, each step (using first position) is a piqué - they just drive all their weight down through the floor which will allow them to balance.

The first step advances, the second step closes and turns in first position.

Best to minimize the arm movements when making 2 turns: press the shoulders and arms down firmly, which will free the neck and facilitate the spotting action.

Single turns are done by the head turning to spot - the quick spot leads the body.
