Fasting without charity is incomplete. In Isaiah 58:6-7, God asks,

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice... to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter?”

Lent is not a personal fitness challenge or a self-improvement project. It's a spiritual journey that should lead to love — love expressed in giving, in mercy, and in solidarity with others.

Fasting disciplines the body.
Prayer purifies the heart.
Almsgiving proves the sincerity of both.

When you fast and do not give, you risk turning inward — making Lent all about yourself. But Lent is about dying to self so others may live. True fasting opens your heart to the needs of others. It creates space, not just in your stomach, but in your life — for generosity.

So yes, after fasting, give. Give what you've saved. Give your time. Give your attention. Give yourself. Bishop bibi teaches Christians
