The pandemic has intensified dependency on technical devices and the production of these devices needs to step up in order to cope with the increasing demand. Because of this pandemic there is a global computer chip shortage that is disrupting supply chains all over the world.

Tesla is the latest company shaping its way into developing its own silicon chips. At a recent promotional event, Tesla demonstrated details of a custom AI chip for training the machine-learning algorithm behind its Autopilot self-driving system.
