Handling a small tanker out of port.

The Chemical tanker "Celsius Mayfair" is a small 144 meter vessel, sailing in loaded condition. Generally, bow thrusters on loaded tankers are quite ineffective. This is why the captain and myself agreed that it would be safer to use 2 tugs. Very simple maneuver, of basically just having both tugs pull at the same time to get off the dock, then having the one on the stern stop and then push to turn the ship 180 degrees.
