Here’s your daily stimulus check, your second stimulus check, your executive action, order, memorandums, moratoriums and stimulus package update for Wednesday, September 9th, 2020.

The IRS recently announced that they will be contacting 9 million Americans, and thankfully it’s not to collect taxes.

They will be trying to reach 9 million people that did not receive their stimulus checks, mostly due to not typically filing taxes.

IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig stated: “We are taking this extra step to help Americans who may not know they could be eligible for this payment or don't know how to register for one. People who aren't required to file a tax return can quickly register on IRS.gov and still get their money this year."

The IRS will be mailing letters to these people on September 24th, and claimants must get their information into the IRS before October 15th to receive their stimulus checks.

If you still have not received your first stimulus check, go to the Non-Filers page on the IRS website and get your $1,200 direct payment before it’s too late.

Meanwhile, we finally have all of the details on the “skinny” and “targeted” stimulus package announced yesterday by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

The nearly $500 billion stimulus package features a number of important items, but another round of $1,200 stimulus checks are not included.

The new stimulus package does include weekly $300 Federal extended unemployment benefits until December, another round of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) for struggling small businesses, $105 billion for schools, $10 billion for the postal service and liability protections for employers and health care facilities.

The new stimulus bill does not include any funding for state and local governments, much to the dismay of the Democrats, but could be passed by the Senate as soon as this week!

While I’d love another round of $1,200 stimulus checks and money for state and local, I think this “skinny” stimulus package is a great starting point and can get money to people in need right away.

Speaking of the Democrats, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer expressed his thoughts on the “targeted” stimulus package today on CNN.

Schumer compared the HEROES Act to the “skinny” bill, stating: "Our bill meets the needs of the American people. Their bill meets the needs of a few ideologues who don't want to vote for anything, but they're feeling such pressure from the public, they have to come to the floor."

He continued: "There's a good chance they feel the pressure once they see the Democrats are not going to fold to this emaciated bill, which leaves so much out. The pressure will mount on them."
